Senior Technical Writer
Phil Como is the Senior Technical Writer for Instructional Design
Associates (IDA), bringing to the position a wide range of writing
and business experience. His writing background is drawn from
a number of industries including financial services, real estate,
franchising and information technology.
Phil’s IT projects have included user guides and quick
reference cards, training manuals for instructor-led training,
computer-based training development, scripts for training videos,
technical reference manuals, installation and configuration guides,
data dictionaries, and release notes. In addition to numerous
IT projects, Phil has had extensive experience in business proposal
writing, responses to requests for proposals, real estate feasibility
and financial analysis studies, and project plan development.
Prior to joining IDA, Phil was a Senior Technical Writer for
Oracle's Financial Services Division where he was highly regarded
for his innovation, attention to detail, and user-centric approach
to documentation. In addition to his writing and instructional
design contributions to IDA, he also provides train-the-trainer
leadership for IDA’s instructors and project management
expertise for training implementations.
Phil is a native Californian, born in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He attended Occidental College in Los Angeles where he received
his Bachelor of Arts degree in Diplomacy and World Affairs and
California teaching credential. He is a senior member of the Society
for Technical Communication.
