IDA becomes a HIPAA Academy partner
November 15, 2002 - IDA has just announced its
business partnership with the HIPAA Academy. There is an urgent
demand by organizations that have been affected by the HIPAA legislature
for an easily understood translation of what they have to do, to
become HIPAA compliant. IDA will present classes developed by the
HIPAA Academy to help ease the mind of these organizations. The
courses will teach them the practical side of HIPAA and how to develop
a strategic plan of attack to reach their compliancy goals.
IDA will run several courses:
- Executive Brief – a 2 hour brief aimed
to inform company executives who should be involved in the compliance
effort and how security and privacy requirements will affect the
organization’s business processes. Attendees will also learn
where and how HIPAA compliance defines and imposes organizational
and personal liability.
- HIPAA Administrators course - a 1-Day course
to examine the impact of the legislation from the perspective
of end users, such as nurses and administrators, responsible for
delivering and supporting health-care related services. The course
will provide attendees with an overview of the HIPAA legislation,
how they will be impacted in their workplace and a step by step
process to use to work towards compliance. This class is intended
for End Users, nurses and administrators responsible for supporting
health-care related services.
- HIPAA Certified Professional course –
a 3-Day course arming attendees with the knowledge to develop
an accurate plan to implement all HIPAA requirements and insure
compliancy within their workplace. Topics covered include Electronic
Transactions and Code Sets, Privacy Requirements and Security
Requirements. This class is intended for Healthcare Executives,
Senior Clinicians, Chief Information Officers, Lawyers, Compliance
Officers, Privacy and Security Officials, Quality Assurance and
Risk Managers, Insurance Executives, Physicians and Office Managers,

care entities. The HIPAA security provision will result in substantial
investment in e-business initiatives and deployment of security
technology specifically in the health-care and insurance industries.
This class is intended for all key members of the enterprise HIPAA
team that will be responsible for securing health care, insurance
and banking industries.
