Project DescriptionAmeritech designed a software product called CivicLink™ that enabled online access to Los Angeles County Superior Court probate records and court documents. The software was initially used by Probate Attorneys to check on the status of cases, check court schedules, and file probate cases electronically using digital signature technology. After a testing period, the software was also made available to the general public to access case information on a limited basis. CivicLink was designed to be accessible from any PC equipped with a modem and phone line connection. The software is currently in use both nationally and internationally. |
IDA’s Role: To provide user analysis expertise to gather and refine user requirements from law firms participating in the pilot user group.This information was then supplied to the development team. Once system development was completed IDA provided hardware installation and software training for law firms that purchased CivicLink.
